Hi! Here are the flashcards I made during IB Chemistry.
I never did Finals (’21 cohort), but I pretty much exclusively used these alongside past paper questions (especially for e.g. spectroscopy) for mocks and midterms and scored sevens throughout and for my final grade. I’d be foolish not to mention Richard Thornley and MSJChem as they helped more than the textbook.
The bit that’s not covered so well is Organic chemistry and transition metals (or HL Option content). There is a OChem deck but this mainly consists of the easy-to-type, easy-to-remember facts. The reason for this is because I learned all the tricky mechanisms (benzene and Sn reactions) by drawing them out myself and using physical flashcards and I suggest you do the same or something similar to remember how to draw them for maximal marks.
Another thing to mention is you should probably learn VSEPR and Born-Haber cycles to the relevant amount of detail (SL/HL) by drawing it out yourself, too. I did this a couple of times and was able to figure it out come exam time 🙂
By the way, click here if you want a guide on how to write a killer chem IA and here if you want my HL Biology flashcards.
If you spot any mistakes, something needs updating because the IB changed its mind or even anything that can be worded better feel free to comment below and I’ll get on it!
