Hi! Here are some more IB resources. I got 3 core points and a 7 in both Biology and Maths. I didn’t have finals, but my coursework was assessed/internally moderated.
Feel free to check out my guide to writing a 24/24 chemistry IA (with a copy of my own), World Studies extended essay and flashcards for HL Biology & Chemistry.
I don’t have much to say about TOK as I’d rather forget it ever happened, but here’s my essay if it helps anyone! I think I mainly outlined it based on this website, but I added some personal flair to it too 🙂
My biology IA is about muscles and more specifically it explores the phenomenon of muscles working in (or against each other in) antagonist pairs – reciprocal inhibition. It uses Spearman’s ranking for analysis, as well as performing standard deviation and including error bars (which admittedly makes little sense with such a small data set) if you want to include any of those in your IA. It didn’t have stunning results, but it goes to show a good IA doesn’t necessarily have to come from a stellar experiment.
My Maths IA is purely statistical and shows how you would perform multivariate (comparing three geographical indices) tests: Pearson’s moment correlation coefficient, chi-squared tests (for independence), box plots with relevant analysis and scatter graphs with secondary data sets from online.
I hope these help you out! 🙂
